ABOUT PROOF
After 4 sets of turntables, 10,000+ records, 500+ parties, a college radio show, multiple music phases, and 8,453 cans of beer – Proof now finds himself in music sales by day and working as a DJ/promoter by night.  As a member of the Massive Selector crew, he’s busy organizing and promoting quality events for the good people of San Francisco.  He’s pretty much played in every joint in the city alongside local favorites like Romanowski, J-Boogie, DJ Zeph, Sake One and the Triple Threat DJs (Vinroc, Apollo, Shortkut).  He’s even been lucky enough to share the stage with some of his personal heroes: DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Swamp, Melo-D, J-Rocc, Neil Armstrong, Breakestra, DJ Spinna, DJ Premier, Haul & Mason, King Brit, ?uestlove, Bobbito, Gilles Peterson, Mark De Clive-Lowe, Daz-I-Kue, and more.  If you ever catch him on the decks, you’ll never hear the same thing twice: from hip-hop, rock, funk, soul, disco, broken beat, Latin, house, reggae, dub, ‘80s…he digs all styles and smiles!

sherABOUT DJ THUMBPRINT

A self-proclaimed b-boy at heart, Sherwin Lumbang (aka DJ Thumbprint) assimilated to hip-hop culture by learning about each respective element, eventually focusing his love of beats and rhythm on the turntables. DJing since the mid-90s, he is affiliated with Kids of Soul & Soul Province, in addition to Massive Selector crew. An eclectic music connoisseur, he enjoys spinning an array of beats to satisfy both the b-boys, steppers, and those who just want to groove. Back in the day, like most DJs starting out, Thumbprint paid his dues as a mobile DJ, spinning at house parties and weddings. Thumbprint linked up with DJ Frantik (Soul Province) and helped start Downbeat, a well-known monthly party in San Diego. He also put in time at Earthbound Radio on a show called Monday Night Movement (which moved to Tuesday nights and is now called Truskool Tuesdays).

Back at Earthbound Radio once again, taking the helm at Truskool Tuesdays alongside Norm Rocwell, you can also catch his podcast with Opoetik called OT Soapbox Sessions. Because of his love of hip-hop and urban culture, Thumbprint has grown from being “just a DJ” to a well-rounded taste-maker behind the scenes, who still considers himself a student of hip-hop (or music in general). Equally inspired by Golden Era hip-hop as Fela Kuti or Mark de Clive-Lowe (and everything in-between), it is apparent that his ear for music has helped him broaden not only his record collection, but his overall sound and approach to DJing. As one-half of the Massive Selector San Diego crew’s Brain Trust, Thumbprint pulls double duty as a DJ and event producer, in an effort to contribute something meaningful and unique to the San Diego music community.

ABOUT NEO-GEO

DJ NeoGeo started “recycling records” in high school in 1991 before joining his mobile DJ crew, Canned Beats, later that year. After spinning at a variety of mobile gigs for a decade (school dances, wedding parties, company parties, etc), DJ NeoGeo jumped into the Bay Area club DJ circuit playing mostly hip hop, R&B/soul and dancehall. In 2002, DJ NeoGeo, DJ Calalo and Boogie Brown formed their crew The Formula to add their own flavor of DJing and promotions to the San Francisco Bay Area urban party scene: their monthly event, Body Rock (2004-2007) has featured some of the world’s best DJs. He has represented Canned Beats and The Formula while showcasing at events in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and Seattle and has performed at various events alongside Triple Threat DJs, X-ecutioner Rob Swift, the Beat Junkies, Rock of the Boot Camp Clik/Heltah Skeltah, Dilated Peoples, DJ Neil Armstrong (5th Platoon/Jay-Z), The Rub DJs, Frontline, DJ Revolution, Jurassic 5’s DJ Nu-Mark, MC Supernatural and Sadat X (Brand Nubian). In 2009, you can catch DJ NeoGeo every 3rd Saturday for The Formula’s HELLA GOOD at Azul San Francisco, every 4th Saturday for LIFT at Etiquette San Francisco and alternating Saturdays at Easy Lounge in Oakland.
